Welcome to AEP’s Claim Area. We understand that you have sustained a loss that AEP may be responsible for. Before you file a claim, we’d like to share a few notes about coverage and our claims process.

What’s Not Covered

In our business, we cannot guarantee an uninterruptable supply of power. Unfortunately, some damage that may occur does not fall under what is covered in our Terms and Conditions. For example, we are not responsible for unpredictable or preventable damages such as:

• Line failures
• Animal interference
• Vandalism
• High Winds
• Acts of God
• Theft
• Causes beyond the control of the company
• Voltage Fluctuations and single phasing

Damage from equipment failure, meter exchanges, repairs during routine maintenance, storms, lightning or severe weather conditions are also not covered.

However, it is our policy to respond to any damage claim that we are responsible for.
